Civil Society and Globalization in Latin America July 31st. Intrdouction by Gustavo Infante (Councelor Embassy of Argentina), and presentations by Lilly Nicholls (Senior Analyst, Bolivia Country Program, CIDA), Laura Macdonald (Department of Political Science, Carleton University), Cristina Rojas (Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University) and Laurie Cole (Policy Analyst, FOCAL). Moderation by Diego Martino (D3E).
A review of civil society and global trends in Latinamerica, with about 25 participants from a diverse set of institutions and backgrounds. Support articles were a FOCAL analysis on civil society inclusion in the Americas multilateral process - download article. More than 35 participants were present at the meeting. Participants were from different nationalities (Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, España, Paraguay, Uruguay, and India), and also from a variety of institutions (universities of Carleton and Ottawa, FOCAL, EcoEnergy Choices, IRDS and others).
